Yeah, I have to rotate which parts of the yards the chickens are allowed at different times of the year. They're usually grounded more often in spring when perennials are tender. I've tried protecting plants with bird netting but that stuff is just a mess, and chickens just push right through...

Oooh oooh that looks delicious!! You just gave me an idea of what to do with some cheese tortellini I have in the freezer. For some reason I was thinking I needed alfredo, but this looks better! Maybe I'll mix up some ground beef or pork (no sausage) in the sauce. Thanks for the idea!

I just discovered my blueberries are getting ripe! Forgot to take a pic of the loaded bushes before we plucked all the good ones off. One container for us, and the damaged and squishies for the chickens. If we don't eat them all first, I'll make blueberry muffins or pancakes

Oh that looks delicious! What do you use for the crust? Whenever we have leftover pizza, fried chicken or "crispy" stuff, I have a great reheating trick... it sounds weird but it really works: You have to get it wet. With water. Then toast it in the oven (I use my toaster oven for almost...

I will be trying that recipe next time! Last week was a total cheater meal with Swedish Meatballs from Ikea, frozen veggies and a gravy packet  but the mashed potatoes were made from scratch! Cup-a-Soup for lunch on a cold rainy day: It was a super busy week getting ready for my...

:gig Mmmmm..... corn!! Thanks, I'll have to share some more food pics soon. I was just finally looking through all my watched threads. I remember when Farmer Connie invited me here and I'm so sad she isn't around anymore. She's the one who inspired me to make a bunch of BYC greetings and I...

I'm afraid of yeast. Luckily this recipe only has baking powder. There's only 3 in my little family, I wonder if adding half a can of corn would be more appropriate for this amount?

My DH had been wanting to go out for lobster for a while, so for father's day I made this dinner: I found some giant lobster tails at Costco and watched YouTube videos to learn how to prepare it on top of the shell like that. I was so proud of myself and it was sooooo delicious! Hubby...

Everyone I know has a completely different recipe for goulash. I still don't know what it's actually supposed to look like. I wonder if it's one of those meals where almost anything you mix together can be called goulash  Another good idea! Would the extra "creaminess" of creamed corn...

I don't know why I never thought of putting corn dogs with chili... great idea!! Do you make cornbread from scratch or boxed mixes? I've used every pre-packaged brand they make and they all turn out dense and flat for me. Then my 2nd grade daughter gave me a "homemade mix" from school as a...
