She is in isolation! I had heard before that they had vaulted skulls, so that’s another reason I separated her as soon as I saw she had a head injury. Sadly when I saw it, it was already very bad.
I’ll see what I can do for her tomorrow… I’ve not been on here since I posted my emergency post.
I posted about it on the emergency thread, but I want to get some of you opinions too in case you don’t see the thread…
One of my polish pullets got her head completely pecked open. Yesterday I thought I saw part of her skull, although I don’t have pictures from yesterday.
I put vetericyn and...
This is the last time I will be on here I swear. It will be a while until I'm on here, but hopefully @notabitail can kindly post updates for me occasionally. I believe I have said most of what has happened in my life since I left in early June, but I will say it all chronologically regardless. I...
I had a whole reply typed out explaining my chook situation, and I accidentally deleted it. :he
Yes, there's free ranging involved. 21 of them are still teeny chicks, but they will be free ranged, along with seven(?) of my adult chooks. I also have different large sections of my coop and run...
I completely understand what you're saying. I can always have @notabitail post messages for me every once in a while... I just miss actually talking to you guys.
Sadly I won't be here to stay. I'm planning on making another alternate account and popping in a few times a month. I stayed off of here for too long and am willing to take the risk of popping in to say hi once and a while... I miss you guys too though.
Maybe you did...
I completely agree...
I’m at a camp right now, so I think I can be on here for just a minute. I’m going to need to switch my account to PTR so that Dad doesn’t know I posted. I just need to let you guys know what happened, although I know that @notabitail and @Desertvalleychickens already explained a little.
I did...
Is that picture from today? I’m no expert but her comb seems a little bit red for broody 🤷♀️ Willow’s always gets pale, but I guess every hen is different. I think you asked about broody combs a while back.
This is her from her first batch of chicks. Notice her pale comb?
Also look at how...
I need to go to Tampa this weekend. I think I mentioned a while back that we are having family issues.
(My uncle gave up his “job” of taking care of everything for my Papa and now my dad has to deal with all of it)
So we have to go to Tampa for the weekend.
I am kinda reluctant to leave my...
Now I’m extra jealous! I only have one colorful egg layer. Kinda a light-ish olive green color. I’m not sure if I have any pictures.
I wonder if I breed Bolt and Pastel (and get a pullet) if I will get a dark green egg? Bolt lays green and Splotch (Pastel’s twin) lays light tan eggs.
I’m not...
