True jungle fowl. Wow ! They may never want to leave the house 😁 that’s one impressive setup! We have similar product here, I started using the calcium & Vit D supplement last winter. I think it helped with their eggs.

Another perspective- it’s a great seat! With a great view, and best of all no chicken poo! I see a couple eyeballing me and wondering ‘now how can I also get up there?’. Very warm already - that’s 85F (99f with humidex). This hay mow is evil, the fan is now blowing hot air… the horses...

Sorry to hear about Yeti. I would also say this darn heat and humidity is a factor, it came on so fast here, one day cool then bam! Heat and humidity, didn’t give the animals time to adjust. I sure hope your other wee feathered friend makes it. 😞

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Hay. I am too old for this stuff! I moved my high velocity fan up to the mow, and that helps. But I am so out of shape and not used to slugging. I could quite happily sit on this bale in front of that fan all day! But I need to move all this To the front of the barn The chooks are...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Yes they are very intimidating! They don’t have much to worry about as adults. Except trains and semi’s!

Thanks! That was so funny! This is what I miss with the foals, esp in the evenings - they would run full tilt round and round their mamas.

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

This morning I remembered that I don’t really have much squabbling unless it’s one of the ladies going broody, and have seen my silkies get into some vicious fights when they are starting to go broody. And the silly girls go out of their way to pick fights with hens way bigger than they are. I...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Good morning everyone, another hot one on tap for today, I have the fans going full on, in the barn. I had to laugh at poor Twister who walked in front of my big high velocity fan and almost was knocked over. Today for Pony Sunday I am posting a link to more information on Fire Flies, I have...

And yet my older Roo just ignores the younger Roos. Unless they encroach upon his ladies. I have had issues with other young Roos challenging my old boy. I don’t often see Mr P even breaking up squabbling between the ladies. My observation has been him keeping the younger Roos away from his...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Safe journeys wee fellas. I also feel it has to do with the number of chooks one has. I have ample space here but when I had only a few there was definite hierarchy. Now not so much. This I also observed with the horses. If there were only a few then one would be boss mare, but when in a...
