You are correct. But I was going to research it first. I want sure if it could be done or should be done. If it seems better to break her broodiness then I'll go that route.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, this crack was probably due to interference. I really wish I could have let her be. But since she was already killing the chicks, I needed to grab the littles before she pecked them.

Thanks for replying. I tried to MacGyver an incubator but between the kids and cat it was temporary at best. I just ran to TSC and bought one. Waiting for it to come up to temp, etc.
I have a broody hen who's been doing great sitting on the eggs. Yesterday, 4 chicks hatched but I had to remove the chicks because mama was pecking them (2 didn't make it and I'm not sure if the 3rd will survive). One more pipped and was zipping its shell. Came out this morning to check on...
