Do you free range? Introducing him out of doors is better, and a protected sleeping arrangement in the coop for a couple weeks. Hens can be absolutely savage with a new rooster.

How well do the frizzled ones tolerate cold, I wonder? I've read that Sebastopol geese don't do as well with subzero temps and I'm wondering whether it's a similar situation with frizzled silkies?
I know this is old, but... I have Silver-laced black & Columbian Wyandottes. It's so strange how different they are from one another personality-wise. The Columbians are snuggly sweeties but the SLB are skittish. Not mean, but they try their best to avoid contact. 🤷♀️
