Here’s a couple side pictures of the mud monster lol. As I was going to let them out to run around, someone crowed!! Not sure who it was but it was sooo cute! So I think I read somewhere that a cochin/silkie will mature faster than a silkie. Anyone know if that is true?
Yes he is and he love to play-fight. I know the girls do too but he just looks like a boy. If it's not too muddy, I'll try to get a better picture of him
Can y’all tell me what’s going on with this little chick? I have 2 like this. They’re filling in but the rest of the hatch has already fluffed up. They’re 9 weeks old tomorrow.
I got 4 paints just shy of 6 weeks. I've got 6 more paints, 3 chocolate and one that is supposed to be a paint but looks chocolate that are 8 days younger than the first ones.
I've been keeping them all together inside at night and they go out for the day. I made a little covered play pen...
Yes it does! I've started taking the littles to the outside brooder during the day while it's still warm
Hubby has almost finished the fence around their yard to keep out loose dogs. It's bad when the chickens have a 6' fence and my 100lb pitt and 80lb bulldog only have a 4' fence.
Okay. I'm convinced whoever wrote that was just wrong. I think I will try to hatch some in the spring! I thought the first one I seen was awesome and wanted to buy her but I just didn't know enough about them
Thanks! I wish I could remember who posted that. I can't seem to find it now. I would have asked the op but they hadn't been on here for months, according to "last seen"
These are my babies. 4 are 3 weeks old and the rest are 2 weeks old.
The 3 smallest are supposed to be chocolate and the rest are paints.
Someone has runny poop. I’ve added electrolytes and probiotics to their water. Anything else I should do?
@Hinotori Someone wrote that they carry disease...
Those babies are so cute!
I thought about getting some showgirls but I read on this thread that they could have issues. is that true? Do they have more problems than silkies(or any other chicken)?
Hello. My name is Linda and I am a brand new silkie addict. Thank you Everyone on this thread for feeding my addiction!
I’ve learned so much here already and it’s just the tip of the iceberg!
I’ve had BYM for years, just for eggs but now I want to try silkies so I bought some eggs off Ebay...
