He is very gorgeous!
So far I love them, but they're still babies and not causing me trouble just yet 😅 It's been interesting getting to know them, they're somewhat friendly but far from brave. They come up to see me but spook so easily, I've only had them a short time though.
I've not noticed...
I've been pretty good ☺️ It's been a busy year as I've been studying.
Flock's been good! Probably been a ton of changes since I last poked in here though. I'm a little over run with silkies these days 😅
I also recently added geese to my menagerie 🫣
I've been absent from this thread for an awfully long time 😶
Hello everyone :frow
I see some new chicky faces from my brief reading of the last couple pages!
I don't have any penciled chickens so I pulled that picture off the internet.
Double laced (my barnies aren't the most shining example of lacing, sorry...)
Penciled.
And if you're like me and can tell they're different but still can't figure out why, here's a chart.
It's certainly cold here, and we had some rain today. I just want to stay inside where it's warm and dry, unfortunately that's not an option with animals to attend to 😅🥲
This is kinda what I was thinking.
If we can't afford more humanely produced eggs maybe we shouldn't be eating egg. Or at least not as much as we do.
My pullets are slowly starting to lay and I am enjoying my fresh eggs :) It might reach a point where I am getting too many eggs and if I do I...
Do you like the boxes? And do you think your barnevelders fit ok? I should probably get some nest boxes before mine all start laying to try and limit my egg hunting.
Yes to this! I work at a vet clinic so I get to see the behind the scenes, being a vet is extremely hard work. They work long hours and deal with many clients each day, and as your story shows not every case has a happy ending. I know I am truly grateful for my vets ❤️
