Funny because I ended up with quail, unexpectedly. It was a pleasant surprise I wasn't even thinking about them laying eggs, I don't know why. How many eggs for an omelet I wonder? Not that I could eat this one. I will have to blow it out and save it.

Hockychick, that is a typical age for some breeds to start , what type of hens do you have? Barred Rocks and Australorp are 2 breeds that start at 16 weeks. My cochins were much older BTW I am from WC NJ

Thanks for letting me share them. I say everyday is Easter around here. I do the egg hunt a couple of times a day and we never have to color them the girls are nice enough to deliver them that way.
