Ok! I know I could probably read thru all these post & find an answer but I'm busy today & im hoping someone will just tell me....how old do Easter eggers usually need to be before they start laying?
One of my smaller bantams laid this one a few weeks ago but I had to post it! It's the smallest chicken egg I've ever gotten from my feather babies! It's as wide as a quarter and barely longer than one...fits in the bottom of a shot glass! Lol!
They will get the hang of laying in the boxes! With my big birds, i put a "fake" egg in their bed and the started laying their eggs there! I actually used an egg shaped rock but ive seen ppl on here use a ceramic egg just to show them where it's supposed to be! It's amazing how well it works! U...
Thanks! I love the designs on the sebrights...they r beautiful birds! I also have a porcelain booted bantam rooster that im hoping will mate with one of my sebrights in the spring...if i can get him off the duck long enuf to notice the hens! He's in love with my duck! Lol!

First egg from my sea brights...first for me! Such a pretty little egg & I got to see her lay it! Im so excited! Now i just gotta wait for the other 2 sea bright hens to follow her lead! :)
Wow! Awesome lookin egg! Not sure which one laid it tho! Ive never seen one like that b4! My CX's eggs are a light brown and sometimes have dark brown speckles on em! That's super speckled tho! I like it!
I just found my first shell-less and inside-less egg...basically nothing but membrane! Not sure which big bird laid it...either my CX or my duck! It looks like the ducks but she hasn't missed a day of egg laying and my CX has! Here's a pic of what I found...
