LOL. That's who I got my nuc from this year. At the end of May.

FYI some bees hate the queen excluder with a passion. Try taking it off. I've never added wax to my foundations, maybe someone else can chime in about that. 🤔

If you have questions, you can always ask here. I started by taking an informal beekeeping class. We met once a week for a couple months at the county fairgrounds over the winter. It's a low onetime fee usually.

Crazy how many are trying it too, but I'll add myself to the list of keepers using 9 frames in a 10 frame box. I now have 3 hives, a nuc, and our long hive going good so far.

I don't know about arthritis, but I have chronic neck pain. I got stung by a honeybee from a hot hive while I was working outside 50 yards from it, right on the back of my neck. It swelled up and hurt at first, but then I didn't have any neck pain for 3 weeks! Pretty crazy, I know but maybe it...

Post in thread 'Who Keeps Bees and Poultry?' https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/who-keeps-bees-and-poultry.1346104/post-24370910 My husband changed the top cover boards to be screened. I should get a picture some time. I can open up the hive lid and just see how they're doing now.

I guess you could try. They pretty much go where they want to. Each spring they are in our grain buckets, even when I put pollen patties on.

Checked my hives and 2 of the 3 were dead outs. The long hive overwintered again fine. One of the hives was out in the open in my orchard without a windbreak. I did cover my hives with the flannel cover thing but a week of -43'F windchill was just too much for them. The were sitting on their...

What kind of wood is it? Pine molds. It's fine if you don't want to paint, you'll just have to replace them more often.
