FYI some bees hate the queen excluder with a passion. Try taking it off.

I started by taking an informal beekeeping class. We met once a week for a couple months at the county fairgrounds over the winter. It's a low onetime fee usually.

My husband changed the top cover boards to be screened. I should get a picture some time. I can open up the hive lid and just see how they're doing now.
