He's a Eurasian barn owl (smaller than the American ones) and male so he's about the smallest barn owl you'll see around here (females are a lot larger than males). He's a sweet heart. That was a school function, my husband teaches history so we were there in costume representing the history...

Non grumpy owl... not exactly a wildlife photo though. That's me and my husband with him. His owner kind of dumped him on us and ran off to play with the explosives that the science dept was playing with.

I have, but he's a rarity.. The same guy that has Lenny (non disgruntled owl) used to have a little screech owl that he took to a little local ren fest to show off and that little guy was poed big time about being out in the sun! Such a grumpy little guy (all of about 3-4 inches tall...)

It looks like you are bothering it and it would prefer to be asleep! I'm sure that's not what's going on but it looks disgruntled! 🤣

Yep, I have an old fully manual film camera and a SLR digital. I noticed the lighting on the trees after I commented. Still fairly impressive though.

Exactly, I've never had a ratsnake come towards me when upset. Apparently black racers are a little meaner and will actually chase you, but they have similar bites so no point in running from them. Hognose will play dead to get you to leave them alone.

Also, typically they will try to run away rather than bite, but if you corner them or try to grab them is when they will snap at you.

That one looks to be a black ratsnake which eat rodents and the occasional copperhead. They get about 6' long or so and maybe 2-3 inches across, not too big. Also, they do tend to be pissy and will bite if you make them mad, but it's like getting hit with sandpaper, no fangs, and no venom (take...

I need to remember to post pictures of Mr Toad on here. I have a random toad that has been living at my garden lately and impeding progress. If he hasn't left by this weekend, I'm going to put him in a bucket so I can do what I need to do without worrying about stepping on or mowing over the...

I'm typically fine with them, but that one ruining my gloves (and I liked those gloves too) because I am not getting quilled again... and my now sore and itchy finger covered in bumps... I'm a little grumpy right now....

I'm not the biggest fan of spiders at the moment.. I tried to put on my gloves at the farm the other day and something didn't feel right, pulled my hand out and it looked like it had been attached by a porcupine and a spider egg case came out of the glove... I thought I got all of the spines out...

I actually like those hummingbird photos, yes, a perfectly crisp photo of them in flight is impressive, but, yours show the actual wing motion and range from the ghosts of the wings. Pretty cool. Nothing against the stickbug, but it's a stickbug. lol

Here are some of a baby fox that was born on my farm. All taken with my phone and whatever lighting happened to be there.
