    Same here. Maybe 9 months. My sole goal was to keep them for the winter's break. I may hold over extra this year specifically for my dogs. Their food is too expensive not to supplement with eggs.

    Would it be detrimental to pencil dates on the eggs? I pencil on the week number my eggs were laid to keep track of how old they are, should a carton get shuffled back of the fridge.

    I want to try this, but I have a cock with my hens so I'm not certain how my potentially fertilized eggs would hold up. Although, I guess there's no harm in trying. 🤷‍♀️
