Probably fine on the scratch amount......but I'd not be feeding males layer feed. Better to go with an all flock type feed, 18-20% protein, and have Oyster Shell in a separate feeder for the active layers.

First pic looks like a torn up soft shelled egg, was there yolk inside? They may have eaten the yolk. Second pic is an ova(yolk) with follicle coating still attached.
