Well if I keep him I will have chicks or hatching eggs next spring! If I keep the other one I will have barred Cochin's available (since barred roosters only produce barred birds) Here's pics of them both. They are still developing tail/hackles and filling out so not all the way there yet...
I hear you. I'd keep my guy too because he's docile. But he and my barred cochin are starting to chase the girls around a little too much. It would be easier if he was a jerk!
Well we both may still be wrong! I would think that you should have heard some crowing attempts by now. And egg laying should begin shortly so it wont be long until you can be sure. Some hens just look a little more masculine than others!
It's a sales position. I just love the concept of the company. They buy from smaller farmers. Any business that provides a healthier option AND supports small farms is a business I could work for.
