    20 weeks is pretty average, I have had pullets lay at 14, but takes them up to 20th to get average sized eggs

    it's epidermal Pheomelanin expression, its often found on RIR, the hens express it better than the males as to what causes it? I would say a combination of genes, Wheaten, Sex linked gold, Colombian and Mahogany
