If 10 out of 12 chicks you hatch are males, is it time to get rid of those hens or is the sample size too small to determine if they are truly male heavy?
Hey everyone. I still have chickens. My RIR auto sexing project is pretty much complete. This last batch I hatched, there was never a doubt about how many pullets and cockerels I had. I just got one problem. I have lots more cockerels than pullets! 😭

I’ve got a couple BCs gone broody. One is an old pro, so I gave her 5 RIR eggs. The other is a young one from last year’s hatching. I’m letting her prove herself before giving eggs. The old girl pecked my wife yesterday 😂. She is always sweet to me. I get a warning screeeech and that’s all.
