I did!
Great colors. The WTB one is black and one is yellow/white, the WTG one is all tan and the other is slightly darker with brown spots. The Americana/EE is grey tinted. Thank goodness I had them mark the Welsummers or I wouldn’t know which was the Partridge Rock!
They are doing great! Gave 3 to a friend, and mixed the other 7 in with a chick order…they mixed well and have been active and growing! I’ll try to get updated pics tomorrow but you might see the other chicks in the pics too! The buffs are very friendly, the Easter Eggers are getting super...
Aww, these adopt an egg hatchalongs wound be even more fun if you could actually adopt the chick!
The little floofers look so small next to my week+ old chicks in the brooder next to them…all wobbly when they waddle around their tiny brooder. Gotta eat up the newness now, they grow so fast! ❤️
No pips on the last 3 eggs, candled them and did not see an internal pip either. May move to try to assist but not sure where to begin. I don’t see movement so I’ll have to sit down and search old threads tonight on what to do day 22 with no movement, no internal pip and no cheeping.
The other...
Status:
I took everyone out once they were dried off. I want to take pictures but they are piled under the heat plate and sleeping. Maybe I’ll take one from under just to show you guys! ❤️
Picked up 14 additional chicks from a local source today. After a 90 minute drive home, they are…you...
That’s her! No white spot & dark eyeliner! :wee
(Now I’m getting greedy and hoping for one of each to hatch out of the rest…my aunt said she will keep all 3 as a breeding trio if there’s one boy and two girls! Fingers crossed…that would be absolutely unbelievable luck…I can’t have roos but I can...
F8 is out! 10 down, 5 to go! They are just rolling along! Still waiting for the last 3 pips, and E1 & L2 ‘s pips look exactly the same. But it’s still only day 20 so I am not nervous yet. 😊
Minty
I have to go pick up another chick order around noon…I think I’m going to leave everybody in...
Woke up. There are EIGHT babies in the incubator, plus one mid-zip!
So far hatched:
F5, F10, O1, O2, O3, L1, B1 & B2. E2 is mid-zip.
L2, F3 & F8 are pipped.
Waiting on F9, L3, and E1 to pip. The only 3 eggs that lost over 14% weight. I don’t think it’s a coincidence!
As I’m writing, E2 is...
L2 @Obsessed With Silkies and F8 @Mrs J are pipped! I am exhausted so I think I’ll compromise and sleep on the couch where I can hear them if anything happens.
That would’ve been my guess!
But..
@MochaLatte
O2 surprised me! It pipped while I was peeking in there! I guess 12.7% isn’t too far off the pattern…I’m thinking if this is not a coincidence that E1 and F9 will be last…we will see soon hopefully!
So, you all probably know by now that I am a number nerd, so…I am going to give you some figures to pass the time, and tell me if you notice any patterns:
% Weight Loss Day 16 of all Eggs Pipped:
10.5, 10, 11.1, 10.2, 10.2, 10, 10.2
% Weight Loss Day 16 of Eggs Not Pipped:
L2 13.3, L3 14.3, E1...
It seems to be making them pip, along with the piano music my DS is playing…it has them rocking! Two more pips!
E2 & O1!
@Sc_chickengirl @Lovely Lettie
Yes, F10 was first! The Legbar and other EE look exactly the same on their pip as when I first noticed it, but the buff has a piece of shell flapping back & forth every so often with a little beak poke & soft tweeting! The other buff hasn’t been pipped very long. Who would’ve thought a hatch...
Thanks. I figured as much! I just want to cuddle her! Lol
One of the Orpingtons is pushing their tiny shell back and forth…hurry up, little one! Your sister needs a friend! 😊
Sooo, adcice? This poor little sweetie is all alone. I have 4 other pips but nobody looks like they are in a hurry to join her! I’m going to leave her at least until this evening but I hate to stick her in the brooder in the garage by herself…ideas?
