Congratulations to all the new egg layers! My mid-June hatch, I know of one Legbar that has laid one egg. The pullets I ordered to raise with my hatch, I have 5 layers out of the 10!
Are your BLRW mixes cockerels? I have 2 EE in my July hatch that I think are boys, because they are grey with the reddish brown all over their backs. They are so pretty, I was hoping one of them would be a girl. I’ll have to get pics next time I am at the farm. Oldest is going away this week so...
Meal Maker, it’s a free egg layer chick Meyer includes, but they ask you to donate eggs to someone in need in return for the chick. Obviously they don’t check but it is a nice idea. Kind of pay-it-forward.

It is fun to have ordered chicks with a hatch! My new chicks actually shipped the week after my hatch, and I moved everyone in together with no issues. I put the incubator babies in a small brooder, and when the new chicks arrived I let them into the big brooder to assess/make sure everyone was...
That’s so strange. The air cells look almost identical to me, I don’t see any drawn on that look very “off”. Will be interested to see if the weight loss seems to play a role in hatch success.
