I haven't bothered putting a whole stage together yet (the camera breaks it up into minute intervals, so its a bit of a bother) but I thought it would be fun to get a few of my favorite (or not favorite lol) moments up on youtube, if anyone is interested.
I don't know if any of you follow the...
The rear beam (which is bent) can come off a 1.6 Fiesta, which are very common, so that can come from a scrap yard.
However, some other parts are XR4 specific, and they only brought 1000 and something into the country. (and that was 17 years ago, so there is even less now) So very hard to come...
The annoying things are A, parts need to come out of the UK (and shipping is um oh cost wise) and B it's looking like the front strut is bent as well, and those are also expensive. (even just getting it fixed)
Also, and this may have been very slightly the reason I came off (other than driver...
Do you have to ask that question? Lol 😅
The answer is great, up till the last stage, when I was sitting 10 2wd (in a very strong field) and realistically just had to bring it home.
However, I was having to much fun to do that, and sent it a bit to hard.
In ditches you find drains, and drains eat...
It is a 2007 Ford Fiesta XR4 (called the ST150 in the UK)
Fully set up as a club level rally car, and is quite quick! I am no where near it's full potential yet. The event was a 2 day gravel rally, covering around 200km (+ transporting between stages)
You know, I'm only just realising how different the cars one gets here are, compared to where you guys are.
Half of the time I don't really know what you're talking about 😅 just because we don't get those here.
I, have not (yet) broken a driveshaft. I have destroyed a rim, smashed a radiator, rad support, bumper and bash plate. Oh, and knocked a wing mirror off. 🤞
I have not yet been to a marriage or a funeral.
I'm guessing my reaction to the wedding would be 'run away and hide embarrassment' while still enjoying it.
Funerals are sad, but maybe at the same time a good way of letting go of things.
Yeah, and there's always new ones to learn.
For example, in the moment there's a noise in the front. Now, the trouble is, I was test driving it, so trying as hard as I could to pick up one anything. And then your mind started playing tricks with you.
I'm suspecting it is just tyre noise, but am...
My next event in just under two weeks, will be my first two day event as driver. I've co-driven it twice before, neither time finishing. Third time luckly?
It is 250km competitive, starting out on fast shire stages, then going into the forest. Night stages as well which is always fun!
Last year...
What needs doing with it? Love the colour!
Question, how good offroad are those types of utes? I'm guessing they're pretty good, unless its a very tight track.
