The new guy has barely grown, & still is very scrawny. So I'm leaning towards him needing a different nutritional feeding system, or he's got poor genetics. I'll play around with nutrition before jumping to the genetics thing though.
It's was my Aunts bird, she was feeding them Purina 18% Chick Starter Grower feed when young, & some 20% Flock Raiser(not mixed)
It actually started getting bars around 4½ weeks. The bars just increased.
Right now she has them free ranging with a sloppy feed system.
When you say white tips, you mean just the tip of the feather?
I look for white under-fluff, as this is usually the samething seen with the Chameleons. Under-fluff seems to be a fairly easy way to identify the oddity.
These are the same rooster, but from last year.
@Amer
(Don't worry I'm not arguing, just talking a subject that's been gone over before🙂)
Here's one of my Malay Roosters I'm planning on breeding into my Chameleons.
Got a Dun Partridge I'm thinking about using to, but he carries silver, which is something I don't want in the Chameleon line.
Another thing about this, in one hen(SassyPants)this thing on occasion spontaneously produces a random red feather. This was by her tail last year.
It also increases the amount of Red in her neck. Will have to snag her up for new pictures.
Mocha, the hen above had a dark wash on her legs at one point. She's got the Charcoal Melanizer.
Her darker brother has Charcoal as well, but no dark wash.
