This is part of why I'm glad my incubators are now at the horse farm - when I had room for them at my old house I would check obsessively. Now I can't, and my hatches are better off.

Unfortunately it looks like a quitter to me, by day 14 it should be filling much more of the egg. I'd toss it.

I use the rubber chick bands for that, and then by four or five weeks they're big enough for their permanent bands to stay on.

I don't know what kind of incubator you are using, but I got a 3d printed divider off of etsy for my Nurture Right 360 and it has seriously cut down both my rates of splay-leg and kamikaze chicks knocking into all of the eggs.

Well, my first hatch-date if the month (of four...) has 6 eggs in lockdown, and my first blue silkie of the year hatched out while I was there (My incubators are set up in my coop, and I don't live on the farm)! I had a 24+ hour period without power, and I didn't lose a single egg! Not sure how...

I did my day 3 candle today - 9 out of 12 Splash eggs are fertile, with two definite clears, and one that I genuinely can't tell if it's fertile, or red ring. So I've got 12 Splash Silkie eggs and the very first two ever laid by my fabulous Cuckoo pullet in the incubator, for a Feb 3rd hatch date. Cuckoo girl had been away from a rooster for about two weeks so I doubt her eggs are fertile, but I put her back with the Splash pen for two days, so...

My Splash Silkie boy is like that, but trust me, he gets the job done!
