I've been using rubber water bowls I buy at the feed store like this:
Last time I bought some it was about $40 for about 40 gallons. That's been a long while ago so price might have gone up. These things last forever though and I drill the drainage holes up about an inch or two on the sides to...
I'm curious how long your shredders and these cutting tools last? I just burnt out my shredder...it was a used one I picked up at second hand shop. Trying to decide if I want to buy a new one or hunt the second hand stores again. I'd love and tips and tricks to making them last longer.
I'm the same way on skirts. Give me a skirt or a dress any day over pants and I like them long too. It's easier to get big roomy pockets on them too. I've built chicken coops and climbed roofs in them... they're comfy!
That's really sad. There's a hand condition often called "housewife hands" that's basically an allergic reaction in the skin of your hands to constant water and chemical exposure. Once it starts it never goes away completely. Women are also more prone to lung cancer regardless of smoking status...
New ideas eh? Well, I'm still friends with a previous neighbor and when our bathroom countertop got chipped recently, their bathroom came to mind. When theirs got damaged years ago, instead of replacing the whole thing, they bought tile and did a mosaic design over it. Fixed it right up and...
Well... California has the oldest water rights and they use that fact to not play ball on the new restrictions and reductions needed. Arizona has the newest rights and part of that means we're supposed to take reductions first if I understand correctly. I'm not sure how it's going to be resolved...
I did find your thread and really enjoyed it ❤️. I've got bags full of shredded paper to use up at the moment and was hoping itd make good litter or mulch before composting. I haven't used litter in ages but my new runs have such horrid dirt. Rock hard and high clay content...virgin desert. It's...
Anyone here found a good use for shredded paper? I tried using it in my nest boxes and I'm not liking how it sometimes sticks to the eggs. I do like it under roost bars...but curious if anyone's tried it as mulch in the garden or deep litter in coops. If you did, what did you think of it? Any...
My current way of keeping my chicken runs is all about keeping it snake free as well as clean. But my youngest is off to college soon, so think this year I'll try going back to a litter method. Even with no litter for years, my oldest coops have soft, rich, amazing dirt. My new coops have rock...
That's quite ingenious! I love it. I've always been rather lazy and used my compost chunks and all. But we have a cement mixer collecting dust. I bet it'd work great to sift gravel out of dirt too for things like the duck run. So glad for the share.
I set my line dry area up in full shade. Afraid the sun's going to fade my clothes, but I haven't actually tried drying in the sun. Any hints or tips to sun dry without fading the clothes? The smell sounds lovely.
