Another mandarins eggs hatched!
She hatched out 6, I checked the other 2 and one was bad and the other was still developing, so I put it in my incubator.
And the 6 california quail and 4 Lady amherst pheasants that hatched 2 weeks ago now, 2 lady amhersts died about a week ago when the power went out 😥. 6 quail and 2 amhersts isn't too terrible I guess.
I'm back again on new updates of new babies. The babies under my white mandarin duck hen hatched this morning, and my shipment of baby chicks came in this morning as well! 3 partridge silkies, 5 buff silkies, 2 black silkies, 1 blue silkie, 1 red silkie, 3 red frizzle cochins, 3 silver...
I haven't been having much success with my Mandarin eggs in my incubator this year, in fact It's embarrassingly low, but my ducks are setting on like 30 eggs, and I candles them, and at least 20/30 of their eggs have development. I'll have to get pictures of the duck and quail when I get home later.
Yeah they're absolutely adorable, they can seriously climb too. Previous years I've put them on 90° surfaces of my couch/chairs/me, and they climb right to the top with ease.
This seems fun! I currently have 5 lady amherst pheasant eggs set to hatch on June 1st, 12 california quail eggs set to hatch June 2nd, and I have LOADS of Mandarin duck eggs from my ducks
under lots of different sources.
Some mandarins set to hatch in my incubator between may 28th and June...
