We helped it but I must have saw false movements, chick was stiff as rock and had good bit of yolk left. I even doubled checked for movement, could have swore i saw breathing.
20 eggs hatched put of the original 24, I removed 3, waiting on 1 more-
-
Not sure what to do about this last one, it hasn't internally pipped yet but i see its body in the low side of the air pocket and can see breathing.
-
Also, mentioning again i added 5 to the original 24 that I had taken...
Look at this little face!
I think this chick came from an ameraucana egg, but I don't believe it's pure (Doesn't have the blue/grey feet)
I'm thinking it'll be an olive egger.
So far i have 10 babies out, and 4 more pips- Not sure about the other eggs, but I think there's 6 eggs that may not hatch- If I'm right then I've still got 9 eggs that haven't pipped yet that should hatch, some of the 9 are internally pipped.
That first iternal pip literally just started to unzip before my eyes 👀.
And not including the one unzipping, 6 other pips- But let me tell you about 2 of them- One pipped the wrong end (like complete opposite) and one pipped right outside the air pocket.
Day 20.
Also, one of my broodys who I...
Now im waiting in the other eggs,
24 of those are left right now, just took 3 quitters out.
They are on day 19 with one internal pip from a BCM so far.
6 out of the original 12 eggs hatched with 11 going into lockdown- The others, 1 was ready to hatch but died, 2 were dead but internally pipped, and 2 more quit maybe on day 16/17. Not sure what happened.
The others hatched with zero assistance.
11 of the original 12 eggs are developing, the 1 was a quitter I found on day 10. I now have 4 polish, 4 silkie, and 3 serama. The one that quit was a silkie.
***note***
I used a phone light as the one candler i have sucks and the phone light works better. 😪.
Day 15:
Serama #1:
Serama #2...
late update- So the eggs i filled my incubators with (like, completely filled.) were 10 CCL, 3 olive eggers, 12 BCM, and 15 of a rainbow mixture containing eggs from a mixed flock araucana and ameraucana's, olive eggers, and a mixed flock of marans and welsummers. I'm currently leaving the...
And now here I am, in the June hatch-a-long as well.
One of my silkies went broody Tuesday, I gave her 6 of her own eggs- (Not even sure if they're fertile though, she's a loner bird.. )
If i did the math right they should hatch around June 20th? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I also set 3 assorted...
