I thought I'd do an update on my chicks! The last one went back with Mama and its siblings, and is doing great! I ended up with 3 chicks out of 5 eggs (One didn't hatch, and the other got cracked early on.) two little silkie mixes, and one little easter egger mix! Not to shame other hens...

Me too! I never let mine hatch again so I can't talk from personal experience 😕 I have one older hen who hatches them all!

I tried earlier, but the other chicks kept pecking her navel. Shes also not very mobile. The mom is super sweet, and has raised/adopted + raised 10-15 chicks, so I'm not worried about that. Plus, mama and chicks are already up and exploring and this chick wouldn't be able to keep up with them...

Thanks! It mostly came off, and I sniped the rest. Me too! I was worried about her all night. She's standing up and peeping, so I plan on bringing her back to momma and siblings very soon! (once the navel clears up a bit, I'm worried momma might peck it)

I hatched 3 chicks with a broody hen, 2 black Silkie mixes and one easter egger mix (almost splash in color!) P.s, what's happening here? She had a rough hatch. I wish I had before pictures, as it's gotten a lot smaller since last night. Thanks!
