We live next 4000 acers of state forest where everybody thinks is a good spot to release coon, possum, squirrels and unwanted cats. I know this because a friend told me he was bringing them to the forest to release them.

Believe it or not killing the coons help the coon population now days. They are way over populated due to there fur not in demand, so hunters / trappers are not targeting them. So if the one's we do catch and kill will help keep sickness like rabies and distemper lower.
