A little help? Is this a roo or pullet?

It's basically chicken math 😉 1 chicken and 4 more chickens mean 20 chickens total. 🤣 I really hope my Grinchy-boo is a pullet. If not what's your plan? She is redder when not on me. That's what I find weird. When I hold her she seems to go pink/flesh color, and not red. She is relaxed af bc...

So Olivia doesn't submit. But Celestia seems too when I go to pet her? The others don't squat as much as she does when I pet her. No clue what it means. Lol. Celestia is my gorgeous Light Brahma.

A little help? Is this a roo or pullet?

I haven't been in the coop yet today. I didn't get a chance yesterday bc it started pouring after we got home. I am hoping to go out later and check when I do their water and feed check. Hubs also bought them a watermelon quarter last night at the store. ❤️

She HAS been talking more lately like she is grumbling. I will definitely be keeping an eye on her more closely now. I am so EGGcited! Her comb has been bright red for a few days. I can show you a photo from Christmas time to now. Photo dates: 1/2/24 12/21/23 12/13/23

Does a brood lamp for heat count as "light" for chickens? They do have a heat source bc it's been low 30s lately here and they are spoiled rotten.

A little help? Is this a roo or pullet?

I haven't noticed. I will go check later today. Mostly they run if I am standing. I am a bald pink thing that is huge to her lol. Now I am going to go put my hand over my pullets just to see if they squat or not. I do know the older chicks and one or two of the hatchlings (who aren't babies...

Phew. I didn't need another rooster as Snape is enough and we take care of our neighbor's roo as well.

A little help? Is this a roo or pullet?

Meet Olivia. She was sold to me at about 4 weeks old as a Sapphire Olive Egger. Well. I don't know much about telling the difference between roosters and hens until it is waaaay obvious, but I am having doubts here. Olivia is around 16 to 17 weeks old now (as are the other 5 babies we got at...
