    Being able to ship chicks and other poultry has allowed people to get far more breeds than just whatever people within driving distance have. If I had to rely on driving distance, I'd probably be stuck with Wyandotte (silver or gold laced, nothing fancy), Australorp (black, again, nothing fancy)...
