    Chewing motions means he's still absorbing the yolk and not ready to hatch yet. Give him more time.

    Duck eggs can take 48-72 hours to hatch after pipping (internally). Once they've started to zip it should be out of the egg in only a few hours. If it's only made the hole bigger and has not started rotating down to create the zip, I'd still consider it to be in the pipping faze. Is your baby...
