Well, we have 20 other hens too, could be all of them. I put him in a seperation pen inside today, looks like he broke is toe in two places, that or banged it up good. It's pretty swollen in those 2 spots. Oh and my goose bit my leg today and made a mark on it. he's gonna be dinner if he keeps...

Mr. Iowa Blue roo, your two hens are in the background Eric. All his feathers are missing off his rump, I don't know how he managed that, and you can see his comb is a bit beat up. He keeps picking on the Lavender Orpington, who is much bigger than him. He mostly just runs away, so I don't know...

Ok. Maybe if it's nice tomorrow I will get some photos, maybe I can get some of thier girls too. It's weird how calm they are now, compared to their offspring..crazy little things.

Hi, been a while since I posted here. Iowa Blues are doing good, I have the same amount as before, except one hen replaces the original ones. I can't tell them apart so I don't know which one she is. Might try breeding them this summer. Eric, your Buttercups are still mischievous, they manage to...

Quote: Orloffs can be easily bullied, especially when young. Had 2 hatch recently that appear to be much larger than any I have ever hatched before. One is cuckoo colored and patterned and bigger than the others, but due to it's height, has a bare butt! The other birds don't draw blood but...

GAH! I had the Orloff seperated out from everyone because all they do is peck her feathers out. I don't know how/why, but she was in the pen with the birds today..she was in a room with the door shut with some turkeys (they are in cages since their still young), and the door out in the other...

Been a long time since posting here..from whenever I last hatched eggs..I have 1 Iowa blue..luckily it's a pullet, everything else are mixes. Not sure if I posted that I lost a ia hen. I think she ate a caterpillar or something poisonous, just remember she had poo'd out something green, kind of...

Lost a pekin duck one night, don't close them in and something goes and gets one. Another one looks like it has bite marks on it's beak. I put the wire under the hutch now, and we will wire the door shut at night so that #(&%#@( predator isn't getting anymore birds!! I didn't look at the door...

Lost an Ia blue hen :\\ idk what was wrong with her. That morning she looked like she had to lay an egg. That night we put them up and I noticed her on the bottom part of the pen still looking like she needed to lay, so I checked her, didn't feel anything. Checked her for mites, nothing...we...

Eric, I kind of thought of worms later, but the poo looks mostly normal. Would they be able to get worms with not even being out yet? We cleaned the layers pen all out and have a fan drying it out. Idk why it just got so wet in there the past week. Going to buy a new waterer for in there too...
