    Pretty much ditto Ms AK. They tend to always make their nests under the best cover. Little dust bowl on the ground. Sometimes they squeeze out an egg anywhere they please. I found one on the roost this spring precariously balanced.

    We have below ZERO temps and the wild ones or ones outside do just fine. The ones in the pens have straw on the ground and shelters to get out of the wind.

    Chucks do better in captivity. They are also way more personable. I think they lose their wildness or are less flighty as well.
