    I looked in on my broody hen today and the eggs that were supposed to be chicks tomorrow are chicks today! She was on 9 eggs and 8 have hatched. She is still covering the 9th egg. I love broodies.

    I hate possums almost as much as I hate coons. Sorry about the broody. I have a broody that has been on eggs for almost 2 weeks. She's one of myt marans hens. They are very good marans. I hav e her in a small dog house we re-modled and I don't think she's moved off the eggs more than a couple...

    I sure am loving this weather. I am so ready for Spring. My first broody will hatch out in a little over a week and I have eggs in a friends incubater. Life is good!

    I wish I could find a better feed. The one I feed is 16% protein and costs $10.95. The CO-OP brand is cheaper and I can get higher protein,but the pellets are so large,the chickens don't like it.
