Anyone hatching chicks right now? Looks like I might have a singleton hatch. I don’t usually start chicks this early in the year, but let a friend convince me it was a good idea.
Hey. Hope everyone is fairing well in this cold snowy weather. Thursday & Friday were such a tease. Back to the bitter tundra for now. Stay warm everyone!!
Were you able to resolve the lice issue? Maybe they associate the coop with being itchy. And we are coming up on the darkest days of the year, so it's normal for them to take a break from laying.
Bummer about fall chickenstock. It would have been nice to see everyone. Though I should be using that day to finish up a shed I'm working on anyway, lol. I was going to bring a couple pullets (spitz) & possibly a couple peachicks. Pm me if interested.
I'm not a fan of the new version of...
Caught the guinea. It's kinda pretty. Will scour the neighborhood again for its owner in the morning, but if I can't find anything, it's free to good home. Healthy bird, no bugs found on him/her. Likes chickens.
Too funny. Watkins Glen is even closer. I'm sorry you are sick. 12 hours in a car when ur sick is no fun at all. Glad the pig is back with its family. Hope you feel better soon! You will be missed at the fall chickenstock.
Wow. Horseheads is super close. We could have done coffee or something. And I have a couple pea chicks for u too, lol. Please connect next time ur in the area. That's a long drive. Sounds like u got home safe. Will u be out this way for fall chickenstock?
Anyone interested in a single guinea? I had one show up & wont leave. I can't find a neighbor who might have lost one. Have a feeling the bird was dumped. I think I can catch him/her tonight or tomorrow night. It looks like a pied bird. My husband can't stand the guinea sound & thinks we...
Yep. We pm'd this morning. The wine cooler did not go into the dumpster. Lots of other stuff did, tho. My basement is the cleanest it's been since before we moved in, yay!
Anyone interested in a busted mini wine fridge? Might make a good coolerbator:
Tomorrow is dumpter day & this will go unless I hear that one of you is interested. Free to good home.
@tao chick my vote would be to pick up a cheep Incubator to use as a hatcher. Your time is valuable as are the supplies to build one. I use a hovabator as a hatcher and it works great. Sometimes I think about selling it, but it's so useful that I just can't. It makes rolling hatches fairly...
