Hey everyone, its been years since I've been on here and had chickens. I just placed an order last night. I can't wait to get back at it.

I free range mine from day one being outside, the first week I guess I need to put them in the coop but after that they go in on their own at dark. They go in later than the chickens but it hasnt been an issue here since I dont close up till after dark. I think my oldest babies are 6 or 7 weeks...

I wouldnt worry to much. My chicks are now 4 weeks old (23 of them) and have been outside without any heat for two weeks( coops not insulated either). The only two nights I put the lamp on was when it got down in the 30's. They've been just fine.

Is there a reason there may be contaminates ? Our well was installed by us when we cleared the land to move the trailer in. We have no neighbors and only woods all around and dont dump anything toxic on the property. The well is only 6 or 7 years old. Should I be worried ?
