Del, we have OE chicks if your friend is interested. We have Wyandotte here. And their broody is not hard to break, as long as I catch it early. I put them in a wire rabbit pen for approximately 24 hours. And the cool air on their belly seems to make them break. If they don't brake, I just give...

Jw, the Marans is for sale because she does not lay as dark as she should. I purchased birds from a breeder last year claimed to be from show lines, and it is not the case. The Chic Orp has a flawed comb and a tuft on the top of her head. If your interested, my son is selling his trio of choc...

Angiebubs, when I first got my incubator, I called Jim and set it exactly to his instruction. I also set the hatcher to the higher humidity he suggested. I haven't touched either since, and we get great hatch rates here. Remember my first hatch guys? It was eggs from TO. She had some that...

Kristi, I keep up to 15 chicks in that brooder. Only for 3-4 weeks. Then 8 move them to a stall in the batn. Once they are big enough to jump the 3 1/2' wall on the stall, I move them to the main free range coop. The stall has 2 heat lamps to be sure they do not get cold if one faols. Here is...

Hey guys!! Chicks are fairly easy to raise. We use the red heat lights you can pick up at fleet type stores. Chick starter, and electrolytes in the water. I use kind of big brooders so the chicks can sit right under the heat or choose to move away. That way I do not need to regulate Temps too...
