I have a mixed group right now too. I mix half and half of layer feed crumbles and chick starter; everyone gets a little bit of everything and a nice variety of the two types of feed.

You can candle them to see if you see any internal pips... that will at least give you an idea if anyone is thinking about hatching soon..

If there isn't a spot on the top of their head, they're hens :)
