It's literally called River Town. And it's awesome. I pop in whenever I'm up there (they carry rice hulls, which I love for my coop).

I don't have anywhere to do that. I was hoping that the two new pullets would serve that purpose. But not so much.

They're basically ignoring him. No one is going after him at all. He's just extremely passive. I've been trying the scratch thing. I'll just keep at it. Thanks.

Anyone have advice on encouraging a rooster to acclimate to the flock? The two pullets are integrating well, but he's so shy. He just hides ALL the time. I feel terrible for him.

Mine is really just a raised, enclosed roost with a laying box attached. It's fully enclosed in a large, secure run. I'll start moving them up tonight.

My coop doesn't close (and isn't built large enough to keep them locked inside for a week), so I'll just keep moving them up. Thanks.

Sadly, I can not just put the kennel into the coop. The coop isn't large enough and the roosts prevent me from putting it in through the doors.

Ok, the three newbies have been in the run since Saturday. They're choosing to sleep together in the dog kennel though. Should I start relocating them each night to the coop? Should I remove the kennel? I haven't seen any agression from the older birds, but the newbies aren't mixing/mingling at all.

They're safe in the run. I'm happy that he's bonding with the new pullets and don't want to disrupt that.

First day went well. *knock on wood*. I was going to move the littles to the coop tonight as I did last night, but the rooster and the pullets are happily ensconced in a kennel, so I'm gonna let them bond.

Will do. Picking up a buff and a black.

Well, I found someone with Orps for sale locally and they had two older pullets ready to go. Picking them up tomorrow.

I'm willing to take any breed pretty much. I may have to resort to Craigslist, which I really don't want to do.

Swinging by to wave hello. I've been off the forum for ages now. I just rescued a little fizzle bantum rooster though, and I'm looking for a couple of pullets to add to the flock along with him (flock is 3 orps and 2 wyandottes). If anyone has a couple they're willing to sell, I'm happy to do a...

Looks just like the girl I got from the Rockland eggs I hatched. She's a fantastic layer, and is the most curious and adventurous of all my birds. She's the first to try any new food I offer and is always exploring and hunting in the yard. She's also completely feral. I can't get anywhere near...

If you're intent on keeping them, search the forum for "rooster boxes".

My guy is fully adult and STILL sounds like a sad, deflating bagpipe. It's hilarious.
