    I agree with dak. My EEs and brown egg layers are more consistent and have better size, but I still love my Ameraucanas!

    Out of 14 w/bw chicks that hatched back in April, 10 of them were roosters...I know what you mean!!

    Thanks! Guess I'll wait on a couple of young roosters to see if they change eye color...cuz they were headed for the chopping block! LOL

    Does W/BW chick eye color change? I've heard that they are sposed to have Bay (red?) colored eyes, but the chicks that I've hatched lately have more of a yellow color... ETA: grammar
