You're welcome! Just as a means to be helpful, she may not have necessarily shipped infertile eggs...I have had several conversations with a local PO worker that has chickens and used to ship hatching eggs...she has said in the past that if eggs are ever x-rayed, they will likely not develop at...

I have not purchased hatching eggs from Peggy, but she seems like she would be a reliable seller to me. Apparently she puts a lot of work into her birds, and has been showing them successfully for a few years. I think you are on the right track. Did you look through the list of breeders on the...

You can order a color wheel at www.ameraucanabreedersclub.org I clicked your profile and checked the photos of the eggs you posted. They look about right color wise. Here are a few examples of what I typically see. The hens have been laying for a few months now so egg color has faded some...

For those that show, what all do you vaccinate your birds for? I have good biosecurity measures in place at the farm, but I plan to show more this year, and I want to do what I can to keep everyone healthy at shows.

Welcome to BYC! I raise a few color varieties of Ameraucanas as well as Silver Laced Orpingtons. I can attest to the fact that they are both sweet, docile breeds. I enjoy having both of them. I refer to the Orpingtons as gentle giants, and the Ameraucanas are very friendly...several of them will...
