I will get my SOP and look that up, that is a first.... never heard that. I have never read that in my SOP either. There are no pedigrees in chickens required to show or...
My feelings on this:
If an Ameraucana doesnt breed true in color, then its not an Ameraucana. Which is why if they are mixed colors, they are not Ameraucanas. They will not breed true. They are EEs.
For those wanting to call their birds Ameraucana, even if they have green legs or off type...
Caught a few pics today. Seems the molt is FINALLY over with, feathers almost back to normal, and I am starting to get eggs. Its been months. Im glad they're back to work.
It seems like most of the hatcheries use the term Ameraucana (Easter Egger), which I think covers any liability they might have. McMurray not only calls them Americanas, but in their description, they call them "The Easter Egg Chicken". They also say they are for egg laying and not for...
Let me tell you about Murphys Law.
I picked up some wheaten and blue wheaten eggs from cpartist last month. I really need a good wheaten roo with some good size, and hers are just magnificent. I figured Id hatch some of her pretty eggs and get myself a good roo. So they hatched several weeks...

And the reason I got eggs from you for New Years was with the hope that I'd get one... no such luck..
BUT.... I have a blue wheaten roo from your eggs that will give Geoffry a run for the money... He is GORGEOUS and I can't wait to see how his hackle feathers color out.
So is this the...
I had a run of these white wheatens, also. Every one was a rooster. I have one more in my grow out pen. I have since gotten rid of that rooster that produced them, and since then havent produced any more. Really an oddity.
Actually I have one nearly full grown in my free range pen, just saw...
Heres my answer from them:
I have no Idea as to what your talking about stealing, pictures on the internet without a copy right are not protected from use. not that that is what happened, but just wanted you to be informed before you start acussing peolpe of stealing.
Egg color is very difficult, to me, to pin down. I call most of my wheaten eggs aqua, which I guess could also be a shade of turquoise. The only way to really tell color is to get the card from the Ameraucana club. Even using that, it will be confusing, because there are SO many different...
That feather legged one has got to be an olive egger. Thats exactly what I would expect them to look like. Ive got some that are just chicks, so you are the FORTUNATE one that got the very first one! And yes, both girls.
I bet the clean faced feather legged one is from my clean faced wheaten...

First, the "the muffs will come in time" saying is a lie. If your bird starts out and continues on without any visible muffs, it will never have any. It's a serious flaw of the breeder.
On that, so is the gold leakage.
However, the leg color is fine, and still counts the bird in as...
