Looks like she's displaying egg laying behavior. May be getting some eggs in the next couple of days. You can always take her to an avian vet to reassure yourself.

Not for EEs, but if you had the Jersey giants, or australorps I'd say yes. EEs aren't a whole lot bigger than silkies, height wise. And the temperments are on par with each other as well.

My silkies have no problem with the heat,and while they aren't wild about cold, they manage just fine. They don't tolerate being pecked or hit on the head though. The skull is very fragile, and a hard peck from another chicken can kill them. Happened to my roo. As far as where to get them, you...

I'd just separate them, take a few eggs and put under them. Doesn't have to be "their " eggs, just separate the eggs into three batches, and let a biddy set each batch.
