    they don't need anything special but sometimes you have to trim the feathers around their eyes so they can see. and yes I sell chicks In the spring.

    yeah I knew the sex came from the female, that's why I didn't know how true what he told me was. thanks for chiming in on that.

    some one told me a couple years back that if the temp. is higher around 100 then it will produce more males and if its lower around 99 then more females. I've never tried this so I don't know how accurate it is though.

    all mine I am hatching are bantams. they are sizzles( only smooth right now) silkies and cochins. oh and also the barnyard mixes!! I was thinking about hatching these two offspring, but I wouldn't have room for them. and I don't know what size they would be the hen is a bantam an the roo is...

    thanks! silkies are bantams so they lay a small tinted egg. they are not sex-linked, it is very hard to sex them until they crow or lay an egg!

    oh no its fine. I incubate most of all my eggs. I don't eat any of my chicken eggs. she is a pullet I hatched last spring, all her other sisters have already started but she decided yesterday to start. this is her :)
