Some people don't trust buying mass produced poultry, and Western will buy back cockerels sexed as pullets. Hard to find homes for all of them, so at least they are going to good use.
What they are using now as the warehouse used to be the original store. A lot less farms in the county these days, so they cater more to pets. It's still a great resource.
The one in Sonoma county is about 20 miles to the west. One in Napa county, about 30 miles to the east.
I feel bad for everyone who got displaced by the fires. We had to evacuate in 2017 for over a week. Not fun.
Is it close to you? We are in between the 2 large fires in the North Bay. Smoke is not fun, but we are lucky this time... no evacuation for us... so far.
We had a few hours watching the glow approach. Mostly got the animals packed up first. We were lucky to be set up for it and have family near. Terrible how fast the fire moved and very sobering to see the results. So many homes lost. Enjoying some rain right now!
So sorry to hear about your home. Glen Ellen got hit hard. Glad your chickens made it! My flock got evacuated the first night in the back of the pick up under the camper shell. They spent 8 nights in there, and day time in my sister's back yard while we waited to see if our home would survive...
Finally got all the pics loaded. Yes, I can deliver or meet part way. I would like the pullet to go with at least one of the males. They are all quite a crew, and where one goes, so goeth all. However, I'm sure they will adjust fine if the boys get separated.
Thank you so much for offering to help with re-homing. I sent you a pm also with some (slightly) better pics.
Serama (pet quality)
EE cockerel. Not crowing yet.
Hi. I have a few darling Serama cockerels and a pullet, and an accidental EE cockerel (sexed pullet) that I would love to find good homes for. Willing to travel too. I will send you a pm with pics later today.
