She's pretty nice but her crest is a little small and her back is too long. You want silkies to have that S shape. Everything else looks great from what I can tell from the photos.
The parents are blue and so is the baby pictured. The tan you are seeing in the dads neck is leakage, which breeders do not want in their birds but if they're just for pets its okay. When breeding blue with blue you will get 50% blue, 25% splash, and 25% black chicks. Hope I helped and if you...
No problem and thanks! I don't sell chicks but I've been thinking about starting to ship eggs since my girls are laying like crazy right now. Definitely PM me.
If you just rubbed it she should be fine. I've never had a vaulted chick have any problems but I have heard of some getting pecked by bigger chickens that have had problems. She's probably okay though, if you did push it too hard she would be acting weird.
I use frontline spray. You just spray it on their neck and above or under the vent I can't exactly remember which one but I don't think it matters as long as you spray it on the skin. It's a great preventative too.
The first few pictured are paints, splash is more blue looking. Here are a few pictures to help tell the difference between splash and paint. The cream or red in the roosters hackles is leakage, which is common on paint roosters. I can't really tell in the last pic but it looks like the one to...
The first one has loose wings but the second one is pretty nice. If you could get a picture of their wings spread out and their feet then it would be easier to tell whether they are or not. Pretty birds!
Just thought I'd share this. I bought this bag for ten dollars to put my show stuff in and decided to get a little crafty the other night and I'm pretty happy on how it turned out :D
I have a splash hen that has like a bald spot on her head so her crest does not look as full as it used to. I just noticed her crest looking smaller about two weeks ago when I was getting her ready for a show. I have two shows coming up, one in almost a week and another in about three weeks. I...
