I have a question that I hope someone here can help me answer. I am getting some partridge nn hens and only have a white roo from paint lines and a buff roo from pure buff lines. I was going to put them with the buff roo after they spend 30 days in lock up. LOL. I want to try to produce buff nn...
The pair this guy came from was a paint roo from paint lines, I got him from a breeder in Ky. The hen was a buff lady I had raised from a chick from my first silkies from 5 years ago.
I have a question for the more knowledgeable silkie breeders. I have a white rooster from paint and buff breeding, it was an oops breeding as I didn't have a buff rooster at the time. I know have him with buff ladies and a black sizzle hen. If he is bred to the buff ladies, what are the chances...
Looks like a boy to me. I have buff as well and he looks like my boy. Give him a little more time, his streamers will turn a darker orange. He is very pretty by the way.
I can't wait, I have paint silkies and sizzles due to start hatching today and tomorrow. Hoping for a good hatch. I'll post pictures once they are dry and fluffy.
The buffs are my favorite. I got them from a friend in Kentucky after waiting for over a year. I can not wait to start getting eggs from thwm to hatch.
Some of my babies from this year. I'm loving the partrdige from my boy Odin.
My buff boy, he is very handsome and loves his ladies. I can't wait to start hatching from this pen.
One of my amazing buff hens, love her to pieces. Love all the ranges in color I get from my partridge pen...
The green sheen doesn't mean boy. True black silkies, even hens will have green sheen. I have a 7 month old girl that just started laying that has beautiful green sheen to her.
I have 3 pens, one for each roo. They all have 4 to 5 hens with them. I had my black roo with the black hens and have nice healthy chicks growing out now. I wanted to start my paint pen and switched the roos around. I hatched out 3 paint and 3 black from paint chicks all were strong and doing...
No pasty butts. Fresh food and water daily. No bloody poops and they are in the house. I did go ahead and put them on corid to be safe. I lost one paint last night and a black from paint isn't doing well this morning.
My adult birds are non related. I have a roo from Martha Light and I got my black hens from a lady close by. I have previous chicks from the paint roo and the black hens but not the 2 together. I have 2 that are doing great but the younger ones are not.
I have a problem. Has anyone else had issues with their paint silkie chicks not thriving? I have a few really nice chicks about a week old and they are weak and I think I'm going to lose them. I have tried sugar water but I'm not sure what else to try or do for them. Only my paint chicks are...
