    Silkie thread!

So excited, my little Sophia (white silkie) who has been oh so broody will get some eggs to sit on that are actually fertile. She has been so diligently sitting on the other hens eggs and such a good girl as I've collected them daily. Now she will have the chance to be the Mama she wants to be...

    Silkie thread!

This is her first go at being broody. I do have a rooster that has came of age and ever since has been hopping on top of everyone including her. I don't know if the eggs she is sitting on are fertile or not. I do know she has taken up residence at the coop door. The only way I can get in is to...

I have a question. I have a silkie who has gone broody for her first time, she has been sitting on eggs for over a week now. I have a Tolbunt chick that is a sole hatch out on Friday. The poor little thing is alone in a small brooder box with a wool sox for a Mama and a mirror for a...

This discussion is on the GA board now. How is the best way of culling for a chick or older bird with the least amount of suffering for human and foul. I have not had to do this yet. I've been tested with other animals and issues so I know I could do it, but I also know it will not be easy on my...

Well the walmarts by me must have switched up. I took your picture with to get the right thing but they did not have it at 2 different locations. :( The reptile version I picked up is close in temp but the humidity differs by 9-10%. It's display does say wet, could that be the difference?

Does this go inside of the incubator or does it have a lead? I purchased a reptile sensor that has leads fished inside of the incubator along side of the turner power cord. My prob is the incubator digital read out and this read differently. This o e says wet on the screen, does that make the...

Say have a newbie question while I'm here. I set up my first incubator (Genesis 1588 w/auto turner). I put a digital reptile thermometer & Hygrometer sensor leads in to double check the digital sensor made in to this unit. I'm not getting the same temp/humidity levels. After an hour the...
