To those who were talking about taping their silkies, I've been told that freezer tape works well. ThT what we are planning on using for our polish. It's not as sticky.
If all the eggs have been in for 32 days they are not good. Be very careful when you toss them. I'd put them in a gallon Baggie and then zip it shut. Then put it in another one
The one on the left isn't that washed out or as white as it looks in the picture. They do produce very nice babies, I've just always wondered why I never get anything but splash. Might be time to add another hen or two from another line.
I have a question. I have a splash silkie rooster, a splash silkie hen and a black silkie hen. At least I think she s black, she could be blue. My question is, out of all the eggs I have hatched from that pen I have never gotten a blue chick. Always splash chicks! Any ideas why??
This one is mostly black except the head is brown. The last baby that I saved from her was a splash silkie. She just seems confused after they are hatched.
So I have decided that my little white silkie, Snow, is not a good mommy. She's a great incubator but she did not help her baby. I went to check on her one baby, a mix between a hatchery buff silkie and one if our black hens, and it's in the corner with blood on it! Snow was still just sitting...
