So sorry to hear that. I've been worried about my black one since we got it, even though it drinks and eats. It doesn't seem to be as strong and it's so much smaller than the other two. Where are you located? I'm thinking about getting a couple more?

The chicks were still in their cage so they were protected but they were only inches from her. I'm hoping to bring her in to see them everyday so that she'll be familiar with them. She'll also be going into a brand new coop with them so I'm hoping that will help.

I let her see them today for the first time. She didn't seem to mind them.

My adult Silkie doesn't roost either but she was 4 months old when I got her so I didn't get to observe her as a tiny chick.

Thank you both. She was such a sweetheart but she must have had something wrong with her. She never did lay an egg and she had problems with sour crop when she was about 8 months old. I was actually surprised that she made it to 2 years old.

I'd love to see pictures of Silkie coops built for cold climates.
