Here is the cardboard cut out i made with some of the butterfly bandaid strips i used to straighten her foot and toes , then i wrapped the whole thing with a regular bandaid
So forest gump (probably with help from others) got one of her booties off , im pleased to say her foot is straight her middle toe is a little crooked but not like it was at first so im thinking the other one is safe to come off
Oh wow , I hope the shoes I made forest work , it was all her toes she couldn't even stand now she's running so I'm hoping , I haven't taken them all the way off being the fact that she hatched yesterday and me just putting them on , but I have been checking to make sure they are not to tight...
@Wyandotte Blue
Shes able to walk which is a improvement from before the booties but under the bandaid are butterfly stripes that hold her toes to the cardboard chickie cutout , when i peaked at her toes a little bit ago her toes are still in place so finger crossed it works:)
Cmom how long do you think i should leave the booties on , i was thinking a week but idk , i figured i would check her toes and bandages everyday but keep them on her at least a week
@love laugh farm thanks ,it is very adorable to watch her walk in her little booties lol , she is walking so good now but its still entertaining lol she waddles ,then her feet look like little wind up toy feet but shes getting around before the booties she couldn't even stand
I used a cardboard cutout of little chickie feet, then i used butterfly bandage strips to hold his toes in place then i placed a bandaid around the whole thing to help keep his feet flat on the cutout
Awe, I'm sorry the hawk got him, yea I got them inside in my brooder box , the chicks that are in with my broody are way bigger than these three so I'll keep them inside till they are bigger, I'm just hoping I got his little feet done up right
I had three chickies hatch so far :D the yellow one there has crooked toes poor thing , i got the toes taped i just hope they straighten up, he/ she also has a vaulted skull
It depends sometimes it takes a couple days or if they are really stressed a few weeks , id give them honey and water and mine i like to give vitamins when i feel they need them but thats up to you
