It has been snowing here for about 3 hours. We have several inches on the ground and horrible wind. Visibility very poor. All schools in our area closed except ONU- my oldest daughter is not happy. I am not happy either because I am going to drive her to class.
Stay safe,

Sorry it took so long for me to get back with a few photos of our BLR Wyandottes. You have to excuse my photography skills they are lacking and my subjects did not want to cooperate. The first photo is of some of the hens, don't mind the turken and cuckoo maran hens...they would'nt get out of...
We have not had any trouble with our blue laced red wyandottes. They were in a pen with all our marans and a few other misc. hens .They all got along fine. We have since seperated the marans off to hatch eggs. The wyandottes are pretty easy going. They are pretty to look at, but I am partial to...
Our winters can be hard on our single combed friends. We have gone to raising more ameraucanas and wyandottes to lessen the chance of frostbite. We do still raise some single combed breeds, but we also heat our chicken building to prevent frostbite and frozen eggs. Nothing but spoiled birds and...
Don't know of too many other than Waterloo and Kankakee swaps..those are the 2 biggest that I know of. Depending on how far south you are and how close you are to the Indiana border there is a poultry and small animal auction twice a month from March through November in Veedersburg, Indiana...
We are just east of Chebanse 3miles. I did'nt realize you were so close. We can get that mean rooster sooner if you want us too. I will drop you a pm.

Thanks for the nice comments Robin & Bob! Only 35 days till the swap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are official Kankakee Swap meet addicts!...We never miss it. We try really hard to make sure we only take and sell birds that we would want to buy ourselves. We also are honest...we don't try to sugar coat...
Take I 57 to the #308 Kankakee exit. Turn south off the ramps and the Kankakee co. Fairgrounds is approx. 1 mile south on the west side of the road...just follow the line of traffic, you will not be able to miss it.
We will be there selling. Not sure what all we will be taking yet.

It is so much fun. There is so much to see. Be sure to bring a flashlight if you plan to look around before sunup! Smith poultry will be there also, set up...
