Our winters can be hard on our single combed friends. We have gone to raising more ameraucanas and wyandottes to lessen the chance of frostbite. We do still raise some single combed breeds, but we also heat our chicken building to prevent frostbite and frozen eggs. Nothing but spoiled birds and...

Don't know of too many other than Waterloo and Kankakee swaps..those are the 2 biggest that I know of. Depending on how far south you are and how close you are to the Indiana border there is a poultry and small animal auction twice a month from March through November in Veedersburg, Indiana...

Take I 57 to the #308 Kankakee exit. Turn south off the ramps and the Kankakee co. Fairgrounds is approx. 1 mile south on the west side of the road...just follow the line of traffic, you will not be able to miss it. We will be there selling. Not sure what all we will be taking yet. Christie
